Infants
and Toddlers
Your little ones are very precious
to us. Their growth, nurturing, and Christian education in the church
begin in our nursery. There are two rooms available. The infant room
is for newborns. When they become confident walkers, they will move to
the toddler room. At 24 months, children graduate to the 2-year old
room.
Our caregivers provide gentle care while taking advantage of the opportunity to teach babies and toddlers through associations and feelings that later develop into concepts about God, going to church, and trusting the people around them. Toddlers are introduced to simple songs, Bible stories, and guided conversation built around monthly themes.
We want your child to enjoy their time in the nursery, have an opportunity to be with other young children, and more importantly, experience the love that God has for all children.
Clean and Safe Environment
We are committed to providing a clean and safe nursery for your
children. The following steps are above and beyond janitorial services:
The nursery is regularly inspected to remove or correct any unsafe elements.
Any used linens and blankets are washed.
All large toys that have been played with are cleaned with anti-bacterial wipes.
Any toys that have been touched are separated and washed with anti-bacterial soap.
Curriculum
Yes, even our littlest children can begin to enjoy hearing stories about
Jesus. Our curriculum is very hands-on with each story including a
storyboard with items to touch and feel. Each storyboard is used for 4
to 5 weeks to give the children a chance to become familiar with the
story.
Registration & Sign-in
Upon arrival to the nursery, you will sign your child in at the sign-in
counter, providing important information such as where you can be
located, child’s special needs, etc.
You will receive a parent card with your child’s name and 3-digit identification number. This card serves two purposes. First, only the person with this card will be able to pick up their child. Second, the ID number shown on the card may be used to notify parents attending church via the Visual Paging System (located on either side of the sanctuary near the ceiling). It is very important that parents hold onto this card during the service and return it when they pick up their child.
If your child has not been registered, you will be asked to fill out a one-time registration form. This ensures that we have all the necessary information regarding your child’s needs and preferences.
Our Cooperative Nursery
When a child has been attending regularly, parents will be asked to
serve in the nursery a minimum of once per quarter. They join other
volunteers and nursery coordinators, providing a wonderful first-church
experience for these little ones!
Visual Paging System
RCC uses a Visual Paging System to discreetly page parents should they
be needed. The system, located on either side of the sanctuary,
displays a 3-digit number that is unique for each child. This unique
number is assigned after your child has been registered.
The three digit number can be found on the ticket you receive when you sign your child into the nursery. This number will be used for your child through kindergarten.
Parents can relax knowing they will be called immediately to the nursery if they’re needed.
